A Look Back on a Busy Year at Invoke PR & Events
As 2016 comes to a close, we thought we would reflect on a whirlwind year here at Invoke PR & Events and take a look back on the fantastic campaigns and launches we had the pleasure of working on.
Spring saw the unveiling of the hotly anticipated SOBO district which encompasses two new office buildings in the heart of Dublin’s digital hub. With a pop up bar, bespoke SOBO cocktails and a virtual reality tour of the River Liffey and the surrounding SOBO site seen through the eyes of the new Samsung VR.
The Legal & Finance day in May was a networking event with a difference and one that we were delighted to be involved in. Jammed packed with impressive speakers from the world of sport and business that included Kingsley Aikins, distinguished businessman Gary McGann, Eoin Reddan, and Roisin Hogan of The Apprentice UK, presenter Ivan Yeats put them all through their paces with some hard-hitting questions. The day came with opportunities for networking and learning from the best in the business followed by an afternoon of tag rugby. A BBQ and evening drinks lasted long into the night.
The launch of Three Park Place in June took us to The National Concert Hall for a first look at the new development of the property as well as insights from the team of architects working on the new build and a behind the scenes look at footage of the work in progress.
Later that month, our annual Property Race Day was once again in full swing. MC Kathryn Thomas got proceedings under way for what was a live and highly entertaining auction, proceeds of which went directly to much deserving children’s charities – To Children with Love, The Children’s Trust (UK) and Debra Ireland. Highlights of the auction included a once in a lifetime four-day trip to see the Ireland V New Zealand game in Chicago – which we didn’t’ know at the time would be history in the making, as well as a private dining experience. The event saw over 400 of Ireland’s top tier investors, bankers and property individuals enjoy an afternoon of fine food and entertainment. We are already planning next year, which promises to be bigger and better than ever.
September saw the launch of Capital Dock. The largest Commercial and Residential scheme to be launched in Ireland in 2016. Rising to an impressive 23 storeys, the residential aspect of the new build will be a defining feature of the Dockland’s skyline. It came with its own bespoke viewing tower, set up and built from scratch on the banks of the Liffey, allowing guests to envisage the mammoth scale of Capital Dock, and what it will mean to Dublin’s ever changing landscape. This was truly one unique project to work on.
One of our more ambitious projects, we launched 1GQ which saw a full transformation of an entire 4th Floor space from a building site with no services, heat or electricity, our task was to make the space match fit for a sit down lunch for 150 people and one we duly accepted.
As well as numerous property & bespoke events, our PR clients also had an exciting and successful 2016! Poulet Bonne Femme who are responsible for bringing the first rotisserie chicken to Ireland opened its doors to a new store at Dundrum Town Centre, giving us another location from which to enjoy their iconic chicken sandwich. The news comes as part of a recently agreed five-year partnership with Aramark and will see a number of new outlets spring up in the New Year.
Kevin Kelly Interiors started the year on a high, celebrating 40 years in business. The well-known interior design consultancy marked the major business milestone with a total re-brand as well as an overhaul to the shop itself. With an impressive portfolio of brands to include Kate Spade, Mulberry Home and high-end fashion house Hermes, Kevin Kelly Interiors can look forward to the next 40 stylish years.
In May, we helped award winning milliner and style sensation Jennifer Wrynne launch her boutique in the beautiful surrounds of The Powerscourt Townhouse Centre. Joined by her nearest and dearest on the night, Tropical Storm wowed the crowd all night with requests and renditions while caricaturist Niall O’Loughlin was on hand drawing individual illustrations.
We also had a busy one with AppliancesDelivered.ie – Ireland’s first online only appliance retailer, who literally take the hassle out of buying appliances online. One Monday morning in October we took to the streets with Mr Ireland as he tended to a spot of ironing on South King Street- all in the name of good fun for their #Ironman challenge. Closer to Christmas, we got into the spirit of things with an intimate evening of Christmas cooking and festive tips and tricks from TV3’S top chef Marcus O’Laoire. The first ever Christmas cooking demonstration was a roaring success- this year’s dinner is going to be our most memorable yet!
Popping up all over town, Iconic Offices offer beautifully created spaces for the serviced office market. Their newest addition is The Wilde – 53 Merrion Square. This fully serviced Georgian building now houses a dynamic office space, perfectly positioned in the heart of Dublin 2, The Wilde is undoubtedly one of the finest serviced offices you will see in Dublin today……when can we move in?
2016 also saw Five Guys Burgers and Fries, the leader of the Fast-Casual Burger market in the US, open its first location in the Republic of Ireland in Dublin’s Dundrum Shopping Centre creating over 80 jobs. With queues out the door and trending across social media, it opened to much hype. It is safe to say that Ireland welcomed the American franchise with hungry open arms. In December, Five Guys went one step further introducing Ireland’s first ever Coca-Cola Freestyle drink machine which gives the customer the opportunity to alter the taste of their drink with flavours including cherry and vanilla flavoured drinks. Keep your eyes peeled for more new outlets coming in 2017!
On behalf of everyone here at Invoke PR & Events, we would like to wish you a happy and healthy 2017.
